This website is owned and operated by Purely Cornwall, trading as Purely Cornwall ("we", "us", "our").

This policy applies to purelycornwall.com and to bookings made directly with us. If you book via a third-party platform such as Airbnb or Booking.com, their own privacy policy also applies to the data they collect and process.
2. What personal information we collect
Booking details: name, address, email, phone number, accommodation and stay dates, number of guests, any special requests.
Payment information: billing details and payment card information, processed securely by our payment provider (see Section 5). We do not store your full card details ourselves.
Communications: records of correspondence, phone calls and messages (including via WhatsApp, where used) between you and us.
Guest reviews: any review or feedback you submit about your stay.
Technical information: IP address, browser type and usage data collected via cookies and similar technologies when you use our website (see our Cookie Policy for full details).
3. How we use your information and our legal basis
Taking and managing your booking, processing payment and providing your accommodation, performance of a contract with you.
Responding to enquiries and guest communications, performance of a contract / our legitimate interests in good customer service.
Meeting legal obligations (e.g. tax records, guest registration required by local authorities), legal obligation.
Improving our website and services (analytics), legitimate interests, or your consent where required (see our Cookie Policy).
Marketing communications (where applicable), consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
We do not use your personal information for any automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects on you.

5. Who we share your information with
We share personal information only where necessary to deliver our services to you, and with the following categories of third party:
Payment processors: to process card payments securely (currently: Stripe (payment processing), Supabase (database & file hosting), Resend (transactional email), Vercel (website hosting)).
Booking platforms: where relevant to your booking (e.g. Airbnb, Booking.com), for the purpose of managing that booking.
Service providers who support our operations: including our website hosting, database, email and guest-messaging providers.
Professional advisers: such as accountants, where necessary.
Authorities: where we are legally required to share information (for example with police, tax, or local health & safety authorities, or for statutory guest registration requirements).
We require third parties to respect the security of your personal data and to treat it in accordance with the law. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
International transfers. Some of our service providers may store or process data outside the UK. Where this happens, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place (such as the UK's International Data Transfer Agreement or adequacy regulations) to protect your information to UK standards.
6. How long we keep your information
We keep your booking and guest information for 6 years after your stay, to meet our accounting and tax record-keeping obligations. Where we are legally required to hold information for longer (for example, statutory guest registration data), we will retain the minimum necessary information until that requirement expires. Where information is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymise it.

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to: request access to the personal information we hold about you; request that inaccurate information be corrected; request erasure where applicable; restrict or object to certain processing; request your information in a portable format; and withdraw consent at any time where we rely on it.
